Choosing wood for decking: a problem?

Cerland terrasse bois

I want wooden decking, yes, but I don’t want to spend my time maintaining it ... and I’m wondering how much I’ll need to spend for good quality... I want modern colours to match my garden furniture but I don’t want to have to use a renovator every 3 months… I love wooden boards but I don't want to contribute to deforestation...It’s a real problem!?

What if it were all a lot more simple? At Cerland, you have the choice of quality and you can select the boards and tiles of your terrace depending on your budget, your taste and the time you want to spend on upkeep. You can choose from a range of varied colours and selected woods which are all durable and under guarantee.

Do you have a tight budget?
Choose from our Basics range: These products are guaranteed 5 years against decay and wood-eating insects, and are FSC eco-certified.
To retain the original appearance of the wood, it is recommended that you use a new wood protector as soon as it is laid. Regular cleaning can be carried out with water, gentle detergent and a brush. Once a year use a jet cleaner, maintaining the jet at a distance of over 30 cm, so as not to damage the wooden fibres.
Possibility to renovate with a wood renovator product.

Do you like the gentle beauty of Northern woods?
Northern woods, Northern pine (also known as Scandinavian Scots pine or Northern Redwood) and spruce (also known as Northern White Wood) have a fine grain with few knots. The slow growth of the trees, favoured by the rigorous climate at the 57th parallel north, guarantees wood with outstanding aesthetic and mechanical qualities. Additional advantage: Cerland boards in Northern wood are available in long lengths to avoid the use of connectors. These products are guaranteed 10 years against decay and wood-eating insects.

Are you tempted by the natural durability and the colours of exotic woods?
Exotic woods provide us with intense colours, natural durability, and a strong resistance to impact and abrasion due to their density.
For its Excelia® decking, Cerland has selected four high-quality exotic species from South America:
Ipe of course, Massaranduba, Cumaru and Garapa, which are also dense, stable in use, durable to very durable, and with excellent mechanical characteristics. These products are guaranteed 25 years against decay and wood-eating insects.
Without upkeep, exotic woods tend to lose their colour. If you prefer to maintain the original colour for longer, it is recommended that you use an exotic woods saturator as soon as it is laid. Regular cleaning can be carried out with water, gentle detergent and a brush. Once a year, use a jet cleaner.

A choice of colours, minimum upkeep, beautiful finish?
Have a look at composite woods. Sold in France and abroad for several years now, these new wood-composite materials are revolutionizing decking. The appearance is close to wood, the colours are close to wood (light brown, havana) or with deliberate styles (anthracite, grey, chocolate). They are guaranteed 10 years against decay and wood-eating insects.
